TropicalBass talks to: Mad Decent’s Benzona

Tropicalbass did a short interview with one of the guys whose work is seen by thousands but we rarely see his face.
The always elusive and very busy, Benzona.
We also are going to do a short review about the Mad Decent’s block Party from Toronto, which at least in USA and Canada, seem to be the catalyzer for the global bass movement, and what is hot in terms of genres.

To begin we will drop a Q&A @Mad Decent Block Party (Toronto 2012)
Spend 5 minutes learning about one of the guys who runs Mad Decent label/blog and Block Parties, BENZONA, as we ask him few things, from why don’t people see much of his music, how important is to keep the free content from MD’s JEFFREE, his obsession with Mexican 3BALL, his thoughts about Diplo’s appropiation controversy and how difficult is to set a Mad Decent party!

Now, About the MD’s Toronto Block Party.

It started really good, although like every big event opening acts didn’t have a major reaction from the crowd, except the front rows, it was really clear that trap, and tropical bass were the leading genres.
People started showing up from everywhere once A Tribe Called Red came on the stage, and if you have heard their music, you know they are very unique, although they kept a Trap/juke Vibe without losing their vibe.

The Diplomats – Dipset Anthem (ATCR REMIX) ***FREE DL*** by A Tribe Called Red

The next Major suprise after couple of great djs were Bad Bad Not Good!

These dudes drop a hybrid jazz, drum n bass, post bop, avantgarde stuff that had everyone jumping, all played in the best old school vibe, keyboards, drums and bass.
One of the highlights was with no doubt their song hard in da paint!

Right After then Dave Nada and Matt Nordstrom came on the stage, to prove why Moombahton is currently for a long time, will kick (at least in terms of music variety, people’s reaction and party enviroment) trap’s ass

People literally were loving it!!
And they didn’t play just moombah.. everything was dropped!!
Zeds Dead ft. Movado – “Undah Yuh Skirt” (Nadastrom Remix) by Nadastrom
