Dropped today on Big’N’Hairy, “La Digue”, the debut EP of Boogaloo is Tropical House as it couldn’t be any better. The producer duo has portuguese roots and a fine sense for mixing different african styles, a smooth minimal House approach and booty-kicking basslines for the dancefloor. They got their first release “Mkwaju” on Moveltraxx a while ago and now return with this 4 track-EP on Austrian label Big’N’Hairy, featuring remix work by no others than So Shifty, Big Dope P, Tipanic and more.
“Wooba” is a highly percussive dancefloor banger that soon breaks into a dark and driving frenzy before beautiful Highlife references release the tension. Especially the bouncing remix by Cocotaxi from Sweden and the Kuduro-esk epic rework by Roulet are my personal favorites on the EP.

“Get up” surfs on a slight, laid-back Balkanvibe and got some do-over by the two Austrians DJ Dizzy and Tipanic.
“Kalimbo” is an awesome percussive Minimal-Tribal track, very fast forward and moving. Big Dope P turns it upside down into a heavy Juke bouncer, while Daniel Klauser from Chile opts for a chilled and deep Ambient version.

“Xibaba” hits the same nerv as “Wooba”, featuring a beautiful spheric melody. The Joelito remix has a heavy Kuduro feel with a lot of claps. So Shifty makes it all bassline and melody and madness on the dancefloor.
