Congo Tardis #1 is waving the flag for Tropical Bass in Australia! They are the first australian tropical / tribal soundsystem represented by the Melbourne based DJs and producers Ms Butt, Paz and Lewis CanCut. Their first offical Release, a 3-track EP with the appropriate title “Number One”, is out now, worldwide! To be honest, I really was looking forward for this, in my opinion it gives a very good overview of the variety of styles they play. There are elements of 3ball Guarachero, Cumbia, UK Funky, Kuduro, Dancehall, Bashment, Kwaito, Baile Funk, Afrobeat, Dub, Dubstep, House, Latin Funk and Disco, Soca, Swamp Funk, Krewe Beat. In other words: everything we call “tropical bass”. I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy this.
