Nectah 3 EP: Jumping Back Slash

Posted On By Jelka

Jumping Back Slash is notorious for his highly infectious takes on South African House merged with all forms of UK Bass incarnations. His latest release on Pollinate Records (as part of the “Nectah” EP series) is a beautiful proof again and covers the whole range from Kwaito to UK Funky to Future Garage.

The opener “Flaai Baba” is a dark Funky banger, full of chopped up vocals and a driving bassline. “Pap En Jam” is pure Cape Town hype, featuring vocalist Qubekani The Ndola. Truly feeling the happily bubbling along synths on JBS’s take on the well-known South African hymn “Shosholozaaa”, before it comes to some serious Future RnB with “No Love” and “Running Back”. “Ubusuke” finally is an awesome warm and flowing Tropical Bass production with a deep melancholic touch.

You can also find an impressing collection of Jumping Back Slash edits of 90s RnB. They are all for free and I seriously recommend you download at least the latest one, the JBS Simba Zombo Relick of Brownstone’s “If You Love Me”:
