Mr. OK – Men Mwen EP

Posted On By Jelka

Out on Masalacism Records for a while now, the debut EP “Men Mwen” by Canadian-Haitian rapper Mr. OK literally is cutting air with it’s sharp futuristic synthy sounds. Combining freshly flowing Kreyol lyrics with Kompa structures as well as with quite dark Ghettotech basslines and a Hip Hop attitude this sound is as danceable as cutting-edge.

After relocating from Port-au-Prince to Montréal in 2009, Mr. OK got in touch with producer Freeworm and the Masalacism crew on occasion of a fundraiser for Haiti in early 2010. The EP also features 2 tracks by Haitian producer Benkele and a brilliant zoukifying remix of “Yaya” by Chief Boima.

Canadian visual artist and producer Bearmod spiced up “Yaya” with his glitchy synth-hop sounds, and Masalacism is giving away a FREE download of the tune right here.
