This one is for all the UK Funky fans! On Christmas Day, the UK based producer Trio Funkystepz dropped this free EP to say “thanks” for your support, so far.
The EP includes six great and unreleased Refixes, they did in the past.
Sorry, no previews available, you need to trust us in this case! It’s big…
For the Remix of “Move To Da Gyal Dem”, Donae’o teamed up with Ghana’s most remarkable Rapper Sarkodie! The single plus 3 additional Remixes will be available for free Download from Donaeo’s homepage on January 23!
Free Mixtape from the Birmingham based Rapper Trilla (Jermaine Trilloskii) featuring a couple of new Tunes and some great Remixes of his well known ones! Next to a Bassline/Speed Garage Remix of “Who Are You” and “0121″, by DJ Q, the Mixtape includes full-length versions of the wicked Fireworkz produced “Limb By Limb” and Trilla’s latest single “Shutdown Ting”, a new Uk funky track!
To get the 12-track strong Tape you have to go over to his homepage and register an account (if you’re not a member, yet). It just take a few seconds!
Pollinate Records is continuing its excellent Nectah EP series with volume 4, this time featuring UK producer Murlo. The preview reveals 4 tracks, partly quirky beats, partly highly danceable uptempo bangers, all jumping back and forth between Soca, Tropical and Funky. Notably outstanding is the Soca-joint “Transform” featuring Munich-based MC Doubla J. The EP is due to drop on November 21st.
As Murlo is notorious for his Dancehall and Soca remixes you should definitely not sleep on his freshly dropped take on one of the UK anthems in 2011, Stylo G’s “Call mi a yardie”. It’s available for free via Soundcloud and an absolute bouncer:
Two weeks after the Release of A.L.’s UK Funky banger “Tell Me”, they’ve dropped another Video for the Remix featuring Mercston, Stutta and Ghetts, all well-known names from the UK Grime and HipHop scene! In my opinion the most important UK Funky tune this year, so far!
Jumping Back Slash is notorious for his highly infectious takes on South African House merged with all forms of UK Bass incarnations. His latest release on Pollinate Records (as part of the “Nectah” EP series) is a beautiful proof again and covers the whole range from Kwaito to UK Funky to Future Garage.
The opener “Flaai Baba” is a dark Funky banger, full of chopped up vocals and a driving bassline. “Pap En Jam” is pure Cape Town hype, featuring vocalist Qubekani The Ndola. Truly feeling the happily bubbling along synths on JBS’s take on the well-known South African hymn “Shosholozaaa”, before it comes to some serious Future RnB with “No Love” and “Running Back”. “Ubusuke” finally is an awesome warm and flowing Tropical Bass production with a deep melancholic touch.
You can also find an impressing collection of Jumping Back Slash edits of 90s RnB. They are all for free and I seriously recommend you download at least the latest one, the JBS Simba Zombo Relick of Brownstone’s “If You Love Me”: Brownstone – If You Love Me (JBS Simba Zombo Relick) by Jumping Back Slash
“Indigo Child” is Donaeo’s second Album! 2 years after the Release of the awesome “Party Hard” (which set of the UK Funky wave) and the following, same-called Album, Donaeo decided to give you his new one for free! “Indigo Child” features 11 tracks, mostly sweet love songs with diversified electronic Beats from UK Funky to Drum and Bass!
9 of these tunes are brandnew and still unheared. Just the two bangers “Move To The Gyal Dem” and “When Angels Sing” (his latest single) are already known, cause Donaeo leaked them on his Twitter, a while ago!
