The German-Namibian artist EES released a new video – Mahambeko (Blessing) featuring the singer Lady May. The song is from the latest album “Megaphone Ghazzie” which came out last October.
Lady May is no stranger – the young singer from Windhok, Namibia already released a few nice albums somewhere between House, Kwaito and RnB. Most of them are internationally distributed by the Berlin-based label Faluma.
“Mahembeko” is not the first collaboration with Lady May and EES – check out “One of them Bois” from 2010.

While observing the angolan house scene, I’ve stumbled upon Rapper Maskarado! The Kuduro Artist is one of the first who realised the full potential of the rising music style and started mixing his Kuduro Vocals with House Beats from angolan producers like DJ Djeff and Don Juan!
His biggest success so far is his collaboration with DJeff “Elegom Bounsa”, which got released worldwide by our friends from Akwaaba music!
On Maskarado’s soundcloud page I’ve found 5 free Tunes, I’d like to share with you! The Quality is a bit low (128kBit/s) but it’s good enough for your mp3-players, at least!
New Afro-House and Kuduro banger outta Luanda by Francis Boy, Puto Angolano and Sana! House Music is getting more and more popular in Angola, you should keep an eye on this new genre!
Jumping Back Slash is notorious for his highly infectious takes on South African House merged with all forms of UK Bass incarnations. His latest release on Pollinate Records (as part of the “Nectah” EP series) is a beautiful proof again and covers the whole range from Kwaito to UK Funky to Future Garage.
The opener “Flaai Baba” is a dark Funky banger, full of chopped up vocals and a driving bassline. “Pap En Jam” is pure Cape Town hype, featuring vocalist Qubekani The Ndola. Truly feeling the happily bubbling along synths on JBS’s take on the well-known South African hymn “Shosholozaaa”, before it comes to some serious Future RnB with “No Love” and “Running Back”. “Ubusuke” finally is an awesome warm and flowing Tropical Bass production with a deep melancholic touch.
You can also find an impressing collection of Jumping Back Slash edits of 90s RnB. They are all for free and I seriously recommend you download at least the latest one, the JBS Simba Zombo Relick of Brownstone’s “If You Love Me”: Brownstone – If You Love Me (JBS Simba Zombo Relick) by Jumping Back Slash
