This is the third post from our “Kwaito From Namibia” Week! While searching for more namibian Kwaito Artist Profile’s on Soundcloud, I’ve stumbled upon the producer Kapro! Kapro is the Founder of Blue Chilli Entertainment, producing awesome music from Kwaito to House and Dance, since 2005! In just a few years Kapro made it to one of the most appreciated producers of Namibia, working with the biggest names in the Kwaito-Biz, like Qonja and Gazza! His long awaited debut album “On The House” was finally released, last year!
We’ve got his latest Afro-Dance/Kwaito-House banger exclusive for you to download! The Tune features Vocals from the Rappers Balu, Kekes and Zig-Zag! Hep him spread this awesome banger, download it and play it in your sets or on your radio shows!
Here are a couple more great free tunes, produced by Kapro, for you to download! If you like what you hear, visit his Soundcloud Set for plenty more stuff like this!
Today we’d like to share the first two Volumes of Tupolev Sound Crash’s new Mixtape Series “Mzansi House Classics”. The belgium based Sound presents you two 1 hour long sets full of Mzansi and Kwaito House Classics from South Africa, mixed by their Selectas Darcyr and Leblanc.
Give them a listen, you won’t regret it!
Some more new Kwaito-House. Not sure why this tune is called “D&B Beat” it’s definitely not Drum and Bass ;) so don’t get confused by the name.
It’s the first Single from DJ Clock’s album “Third Tick”, who’s also responsible for the vocals and features DJ Cleo (his new Video was posted yesterday).
This is very cheesy Reggae/Dancehall-Kwaito from Demin a south african Live band. Somehow this reminds me of the german Reggae- and Pop- House act “R.I.O”, so this tune has definitely the popential to conquer the european billboard charts!
Mozambique’s most famous House DJ and producer Mr. Dino teamed up with Pandza Artist DJ Damost for this awesome piece of music. The tune is definitely not new, it’s around for a while now, but i think the video for it is!
Nevertheless i can say one thing for sure: House from Mozambique is as good as south african House!
New black and white music video from famous south african House producer Black Coffee featuring singer Thiwe. In Europe Black Coffee got a lot of airplay lately, since his music is often linked with Funky House and UK Funky.
I’ve never heard a bongo flava tune like this before… The riddim isn’t a typical tanzanian Beat, reminds me on south african Kwaito, maybe because it’s more electronic than most of the tanzanian productions i know. Let’s hope this is a new development in tanzanian music business!
One of the biggest tunes outta Durban right now blasting in every corner of SA: Big Nuz feat. DJ Tira – Umlilo.
Unfortunatly this tune is not available outside South Africa, like most of the Kwaito artists.. anyway, I’d really love to share this large piece of music. Also played at the Kwaito edition of Riddims Tropicale.
June edition of our podcast show Riddims Tropicale, presented by TropicalBass.com. Host: Marflix
This month we focus on urban music from South Africa, namely Kwaito and Kwaito House, the “township music”. Kwaito is a perfect example for a genre which is influenced by House, RnB, Rap and Garage but has it’s very own characteristics which let is stand out – the music is always associated with a local cultural context that brings out some extra meanings and messages even if the rhythm patterns might sound familiar to western ears.
All artists in the show are from South Africa (to my knowledge) except Lady May (from Namibia) who released two albums on my label Faluma Africa, and “Vuvuzela Funk“, a Kwaito House / Funky – Hybrid with myself on the beats.
